Fusepoint Launches SharePoint Application Development and Managed Hosting Services

September 22, 2009 by

Web Hosting Tools TORONTO, ON – Fusepoint Managed Services, a national provider of outsourced IT and infrastructure services, today announced it has launched its offering of customizable SharePoint application development tools in addition to providing ongoing management for Microsoft’s web-based portal solutions.

Microsoft Office SharePoint is an integrated suite of business intelligence tools that boost organizational effectiveness by facilitating team collaboration and knowledge-sharing across an organization. SharePoint offers a secure, scalable corporate-level portal environment based on a powerful framework with ready-to-use web parts. With feature-rich, out-of-the-box functionality, administrators can readily build applications, workflows and portals to accelerate shared business processes and improve efficiencies.

“SharePoint is a very powerful and popular business platform and a natural extension of our existing application development and managed hosting services portfolio,” said George Kerns, President and CEO of Fusepoint. “As we continue to grow our business we want to have our fingers on the pulse of what our customers and the market as a whole are seeking in a managed services provider.”

In support of today’s announcement Fusepoint has launched a new web site dedicated to and built
on SharePoint. This new site demonstrates just one of the many uses of the product.

Earlier this year, Fusepoint renewed its certificates for Microsoft’s revamped Application Development and Hosting Competencies – as a Gold Certified Partner for both proficiencies. To achieve these standards the company had to prove its employees held the relevant certifications, illustrate appropriate projects they had completed and submit customer testimonials as proof points of its capabilities.

“Fusepoint can help customers navigate the complexities of multiple SharePoint environments and provide the proper architecture and governance to ensure compliancy with corporate policies and standards,” said Martin Landreville, VP of Applications Services at Fusepoint, “Fusepoint can review an organization’s existing SharePoint strategy, create a new or extend an existing web application, integrate legacy applications into SharePoint, and provide all of the ongoing application and infrastructure management in one of our high-availability data centres.”

Benefits of SharePoint include:
• Increased employee productivity by streamlining day-to-day business operations
• Reduced project cycle time through collaboration
• Allows people to make informed decisions by providing centralized access to information
• Helps meet regulatory requirements through total content control
• Simplified access to structured and non-structured data across various systems
• Offers a unique, integrated platform for managing business-wide intranet, extranet and Internet applications

Fusepoint has extensive knowledge and experience in supporting Microsoft development platforms, such as .Net and provides the ongoing management of the dominant Microsoft Windows operating system, IIS Web server and SQL database, under its fully managed hosting offering.
