Horizon Data Center Solutions Continues Growth in Dallas

September 25, 2009 by

Web Hosting Tools Dallas – Horizon Data Center Solutions, which last month announced its successful first year results, has entered its second year strong by adding new business in its recently opened Dallas Two Data Center. According to Horizon, several thousand square feet of colocation space has already been leased in the Dallas Two facility, and the first client to move in is fast growing ATI, which provides career training to thousands of students each year through schools in Texas, Florida, New Mexico, Arizona and Oklahoma.

Horizon CEO Lance A. Smith says ATI has agreed to a multi-year deal to host their data storage and email services, and the two companies are currently exploring additional technology services that Horizon can offer to assist the institution in managing both its current and future information technology needs.

“ATI has succeeded in the career training and education market space by providing affordable programs that attract students who need a flexible alternative to traditional education. Our numbers are growing with campuses across the nation, and serving this population requires that we leverage our internal technology capabilities with outside expertise and keep our student’s personal information safe. Horizon not only ensures our data security but also can provide us with the technology options we need to move into the future,” says Steven Barnard, Chief Technology Officer of ATI.

“Both traditional and non-traditional educational institutions realize they need data security, and they see the future of their institutions growing with more online services available to their students. Our data center clients are fueling their own growth by leveraging our expertise to cut their internal technology costs and increase both their reliability and their technical capabilities,” Smith says.

Barnard says ATI was attracted to Horizon and its Dallas Two Data Center for three major reasons: Horizon’s technology experts and their ability to provide a broad array of technology both now and in the future, the state-of-the-art facilities at Dallas Two, and the company’s SAS 70 Type II audit, which required the facility to meet the industry’s strictest standards for reliability and performance.

“Our Dallas Two facility is impressive, but what our customers tell us they appreciate most is our flexibility and customized approach to delivering everything from colocation to managed services and hosting,” Smith says.

ATI is one of the first customers to go online in Dallas Two, but space surrounding them is expected to fill up quickly. Horizon anticipates filling 25,000 square feet in the facility with client servers within the next six months. The company is already analyzing additional data center locations in Northern California, Northern Virginia, and Houston.
