WebhostingDay 2010: New Record Attendance at World’s Largest Web Hosting Event

March 16, 2010 by

Web Hosting ToolsHUERTH, Germany – When famous companies from the hosting industry like Microsoft, Parallels, Aggretech, HP, InterNetX, AMD, Fujitsu, Intel and Deutsche Telekom come together in Germany, it is time for WebhostingDay again. The largest web hosting event in the world will take place from March 17-19 at the Phantasialand theme park near Cologne.

With more than 3,500 registered visitors the event could gain 40 percent attendance compared to the previous year. Also the number of exhibitors and media partners has increased: while there were 50 partner companies in 2009, which presented their innovations at the hosting fair and in speeches, in 2010 there are about 70 companies from the hosting or complementary sectors. Thus, WebhostingDay presents a comprehensive overview of current trends and developments in the field of web hosting.

The fact that even more attendees have registered for the 2010 event clearly attests that WebhostingDay has become a compulsory event for the sector. Being the only networking and innovation forum in Europe specialized on web hosting topics, we offer a unique opportunity to the attendees to meet just the right contacts for their business”, explains Thomas Strohe, CEO of intergenia AG and organizer of WebhostingDay. “By now it is actually the world’s largest event of its kind and we bring the most important executives of major web hosting companies to Germany”, comments Strohe.

High-class experts from the top management level of renowned hosting and telecommunication companies could be won as speakers for the “main.FORUM”, which takes place on two of the three event days. On March 17th, John Fruehe from AMD, Serguei Beloussov from Parallels, John Zanni from Microsoft and many others will give a speech. On March 18th, Raejeanne Skillern from Intel, Rafael Laguna from Open-Xchange and Andres Jordan from Deutsche Telekom are amongst the speakers who inform their audience about the latest developments in the hosting sector.

One of the major topics this year is Cloud Computing again with its chances and risks for companies. But also new hardware for hosters will be introduced at WebhostingDay. For example by HP: “The HP ProLiant SL line is designed for customers with scale out business models: The lightweight rail and tray design of the SL server family enables customers to reduce costs, improve facility efficiency and dramatically accelerate time to market”, says Eva Beck, Business Manager HP Scalable Computing & Infrastructure EMEA. “Key issues for data center managers include power and cooling restraints; with the HP SL server line customers can cut power draw by 28 percent compared to traditional rack-based servers while doubling their compute density.”

The online registration for WebhostingDay 2010 has been closed on March 12th. But there is still the chance to buy tickets on-site from the cash register during the event. The entrance fee for this three day event including catering and social events is EUR 349 net, or EUR 749 net for a VIP ticket, respectively.
