April 15, 2010 by

Web Host ToolboxHOUSTON – The Planet, the global leader in IT hosting, today announced that Duke S. Skarda, the company’s vice president of information technology and software development, will deliver an address at the fifth international Cloud Expo in New York City. Titled “The Cloud’s Not the Revolution: Cloud Usage Is,” Skarda will underscore how overuse of “the cloud” moniker has caused confusion in the marketplace and will preview its “real” adoption curve, discussing when cloud solutions make sense for companies. Carl Meadows, the company’s senior product manager for cloud services, will also lead a session entitled “Five Steps to Sanity: Methodologies for Finding Your Best Cloud Source.” Scheduled for Wednesday, April 21, at 8:20 a.m. EST, Meadows will offer a comprehensive five-step methodology for choosing the right cloud platform for one’s business, including how to profile applications, articulate a capacity plan and define security requirements.

The Planet is a Gold Sponsor of the Cloud Expo, and will showcase its hosting and cloud solutions at booth 118.

The Cloud Expo begins April 19 and runs through April 21 at the Javits Convention Center in New York City. For more information, visit www.theplanet.com/events.
