FCOM to Host Data Center World Conference

September 7, 2010 by

Hosting ServicesORANGE, CA – AFCOM, the world’s leading data center association, today announced the finalized speaker and session line up for the Fall 2010 Data Center World, taking place October 3 – 6 at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, where 800 data center managers are planning to partake in the world-class conference and networking event.

Highlights during this four day conference include:

* Virtual Data Center Tours from Emerson’s LEED Gold Certified Global Data Center and Microsoft’s Redmond Ridge – R&D Test Data Center.

* A keynote address, “Data Security in a Fast-Moving World,” will be presented by Subodh K. Kulkarni, chief technology officer for Imation.
* More than 70 educational sessions, round tables, and panel discussions, covering information including healthcare IT and the data center, and how to acquire funding for data center projects, like build outs.
* A special track on cloud computing—from getting started and building a private cloud to security in the cloud and cloud computing within the IT service value chain—these sessions come to Data Center World for the first time, designed to follow up a recent report from AFCOM’s Data Center Institute.

“The cloud has become the biggest buzz word in our industry over the course of the last year, but the transition can be a confusing place, and it can be difficult to explain to executives why it is a necessary move. Between the Data Center Institute’s new research paper and the educational track at Data Center World, data center managers can feel more confident in their cloud decisions,” said Jill Eckhaus, chief executive officer of AFCOM.

Now celebrating its 30th anniversary, Data Center World is the largest global event of its kind and has been named one of the 50 fastest growing tradeshows in the U.S. It is often regarded as the premier networking and educational event by data center managers and industry professionals. AFCOM expects a 20 percent increase in attendance from 2009, proving it continues to be a critical show for any data center manager. AFCOM also has registered more than 130 leading vendors to exhibit.
