Verio Names Hideyuki Yamasawa To Serve As President and Chief Executive Officer

Verio Inc., the leading provider of online business solutions to SMBs worldwide, including business web hosting, application hosting and Software as a Service (SaaS), today announced the appointment of Hideyuki Yamasawa as the company’s president and chief executive officer (CEO) and member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Yamasawa will succeed Kiyoshi Maeda who was named president and CEO in 2005. Under the successful leadership of Mr. Maeda, the company grew annual revenues, expanded its global presence and established partnerships with national carriers around the world.

Mr. Yamasawa comes to Verio from NTT Communications Corporation (NTTCom) where he holds a long tenure with the company and was one of the founding members helping to establish the organization in 1999. As a key founding Executive, he was largely responsible for establishing the strategic direction and vision of the company, much of which continues to be the infrastructure for which they operate today.

Most recently, Mr. Yamasawa was the Head of the General Affairs department for NTT Com where he was responsible for multiple facets of the business. In this role, he led the company’s overall strategic planning and operations and established the corporate strategy for ensuring efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of all corporate initiatives. Under his leadership, these efforts led to revitalized operational processes and efficiencies for NTTCom and its subsidiaries.

Prior to his appointment as Head of the General Affairs department, Mr. Yamasawa served as the Deputy Managing Director of NTT Europe where he was responsible for the overall business operations of the company. Under his leadership, he established NTT Com’s presence within the European marketplace and led the company to significant growth and development with continued success today. As an employee of NTT for over twenty years, he has also held roles in the following areas:  Business Planning and Development, Public Affairs, Sales and Corporate Services.  Mr. Yamasawa’s contributions have resulted in establishing new business growth for NTTCom and have helped position the company as a world-wide industry leader.

In his new role as president and CEO, Mr. Yamasawa will be responsible for the strategic direction of Verio and leading the company in achieving annual goals, growing global market opportunities, spearheading new product initiatives and positioning the company for overall continued success. The company will remain exclusively focused on the small business market and will continue to operate through its global network of OEM and viaVerio Channel Partners. Mr. Yamasawa will oversee all business operations for both Verio and Verio Europe.

Mr. Yamasawa holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics from Keio Gijyuku University.
