IPv6 Adoption Discussion at The Digital Government Institute’s IPv6 Conference

November 10, 2010 by

Web Hosting ServicesWashington – Hurricane Electric, the world’s leading IPv6-native Internet backbone and colocation provider, today announced that its Director of IPv6 Strategy, Martin Levy, will speak at the Digital Government Institute’s Government IPv6: What to Expect in 2011 conference on November 10th at 1:00 PM.  The conference will be held in the Polaris Room of the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C. from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

Martin Levy’s talk, titled IPv6: A Global Perspective, will cover regional rates of IPv6 adoption and IPv6 transition techniques that can help federal agencies comply with the recent IPv6 federal mandate from the White House.

“With less than five percent of the IPv4 address space left for allocation, the time to transition to IPv6 is now,” said Martin Levy.  “This talk will leverage Hurricane Electric’s IPv6 expertise and global points of presence to provide the audience with IPv6 transition strategies for complex heterogeneous networks with wide geographic distribution.”

For nearly ten years, Hurricane Electric has been at the forefront of IPv6 transition, providing training and tools to the networking community.  Hurricane Electric recently launched an IPv6 YouTube channel that provides weekly updates on IPv6 developments like new network administrator tools.  Hurricane Electric also offers popular IPv6 certification, Tunnel Broker and Free DNS Services.

Last month Hurricane Electric announced that it was the first Internet backbone to connect to over 1000 IPv6 networks, retaining its place as the world’s largest IPv6 network.
