QTS to Open New Virginia Data Center

Web Hosting ServicesRICHMOND, VA – QTS (Quality Technology Services), one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing privately-held providers of data center facilities and managed services, today announced that it will open its new, 1.3 million square foot data center campus approximately two months ahead of schedule in the first week of November. The first phase of development, which openedĀ  November 1, will comprise 50,000 square feet and offer customers up to 18 megawatts of power. Suites and custom data center solutions will be customizable from 1,000 to 50,000 square feet. Colocation and managed service options will also be available in the QTS Richmond facility. Concurrently, the company announced the signing of the first government agency that will occupy the new QTS Richmond Data Center. QTS has leased 6,000 square feet with a megawatt of power to a federal government services agency that will open late in the fourth quarter of 2010. Terms of the contract were undisclosed.

QTS will house its newly launched government services division in local Washington, D.C. offices as well as within the Richmond complex. Introduced to meet the specific needs and challenges of regulated government agencies, the QTS Government Services unit will develop and promote bundled services, including colocation space and managed services, that are tailored for government and related organizations.
