Hosting ToolboxHOUSTON – CyrusOne, a preeminent enterprise data center colocation provider, today announced its segue into the European market with a new colocation data center in London. The 10,000 square foot facility, which is the first data center for CyrusOne operations in Europe, will expand the company’s international customer base and serve existing CyrusOne customers that have international data center requirements. CyrusOne has first rights of refusal on an additional 10,000 square feet, to be taken upon request.

In keeping with CyrusOne’s standards for high availability colocation space, the company’s London facility will feature N+N or N+1 power solutions; a minimum N+N Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) with battery back-up, a minimum of N+1 standby on all cooling systems, as well as state-of-the-art fire detection and suppression, security and building management systems. Additionally, the CyrusOne London facility has access to multiple telecommunication providers including: Abovenet, British Telecom, COLT, Easynet, Virgin Media, Vtesse and Verizon.

“This expansion is in direct response to our customers’ growing demand and evolving requirements for colocation space, as well as some very attractive, growing market segments in Europe,” said David Ferdman, CEO, CyrusOne. “As with all our other facilities, our London data center will offer state-of-the-art, raised floor space that adheres to the highest engineering design standards with focus on resiliencies and redundancies.”

The new data center is expected to be operational in spring 2011.
