Web Hosting ServicesLondon, UK – VPS.Net, a global provider of cloud hosting solutions, has announced the arrival of a new Virtual Private Server (VPS) platform called VPS EDU which is set to streamline IT management and teaching techniques in schools, colleges and universities.

Already being used by students in the USA, the UK product will be officially unveiled at the BETT show from the 11th to 14th January.

This cloud based solution enables teachers, lecturers and curriculum managers to design and set problems, homework or any other class activity, store it, and then push it out to any number of students in groups or individually over any time period. All of this exists outside of the institution’s ICT infrastructure completely removing the need for additional administration or security at the institution or at any other location used by the students or faculty.

Marc Barfoot, Education Sales Manager at VPS.net, said: “The new VPS EDU platform will revolutionise the management of IT in the educational sector. Teachers and curriculum managers will be able to create and deploy multiple cloud servers, pre-configured with various exercises and tasks, in a matter of minutes.”

Teachers and lectures don’t have to spend time on laborious tasks like building each individual server or worrying about if some students have faulty hardware, the VPS EDU platform gives them access to world-class cloud technology and be accessed from any internet enabled device. All of this is easily managed through the VPS.NET intuitive control panel which is the first of its kind in the education sector and allows staff to manage all their student VPS’s in your their browser in a desktop-like environment.

Marc added: “This product is the first of its kind in the UK and in the education sector worldwide. The USA launch is going really well and if institutions are prepared to implement this revolutionary platform they will be delighted with the results and the ease of use when it comes to managing multiple cloud server accounts for their students.”
