GigaSpaces CTO Nati Shalom and Native API Debate Take Center Stage at OpenStack New York Event

September 9, 2013 by

Web Hosting ServicesNew York, NY – Nati is a thought leader in cloud computing & big data technologies, as well as a recently recognized Top Cloud Computing Blogger by CIO Magazine and an excellent blogger by *technical founders* at YCombinator. Both Nati and Randy have been vocal in their approach to the AWS API topic.

The upcoming OpenStack New York Meetup on September 12th, 2013 will focus on the long-standing and recently revived debate — should OpenStack embrace AWS APIs and architecture? Nati and Randy will delve into their divergent perspectives on this hot topic.

“The controversial nature of this debate lies in whether OpenStack will become the de-facto standard for hybrid and private cloud, leaving AWS as leaders of the public cloud sphere, or will they give them a run for their money on this front as well? The crux of the matter centers on cloud portability, and I believe API portability covers only a small part (and not necessarily the important part) of what is needed to get true application portability,” said Nati Shalom.

Randy Bias will discuss why he believes OpenStack’s future depends on embracing Amazon APIs (See blog post). You can also visit Nati’s blog to learn more about the OpenStack Native API Debate.
