Nexcess Successfully Completes SSAE-16 SOC 1 Type 2 Examination
October 7, 2013 by FindMyHost News
Web Hosting Services – Southfield, MI – Nexcess, a provider of managed WordPress and Magento hosting, has announced its second successful SSAE-16 Type 2 examination within the scope of Data Center and Web Hosting Services. The examination was provided by Brightline CPAs & Associates, Inc., who has reaffirmed the hosting provider’s good standing following a previous examination which took place between August 1, 2011 and January 31, 2012.
Nexcess’ SOC 1 (Service Organization Controls Report) Type 2 examination provides clients with continued reassurance that essential controls for critical aspects of business operations like financial reporting are in place and meet the highest standards, as set forth by the AICPA. SSAE-16 compliant hosting is particularly important for Nexcess as a significant volume of their business concerns eCommerce and other enterprise hosting services.
The examination by a qualified 3rd party CPA is intended to give Nexcess service users complete confidence that rigorous and reliable controls are in place and have been scrutinized and verified by outside experts.
“We’re always aware that safety, security, and accountability are primary concerns for our hosting clients, “ commented Chris Wells, President and CEO of Nexcess, “Our clients trust us because we’re always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that they are able to verify the standards and controls we have in place. Allowing 3rd party experts to examine those controls is a critical component in that ongoing process.”
The Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16 replaces the older SAS 70 standard, and is intended to bring the United States into alignment with the international ISAE 3402 standard. SSAE-16 can also be referred to as “SOC 1”. For more information on this and related standards, visit http://ssae16.com/.
