KnownHost Expands with New East Coast Datacenter

December 12, 2011 by · Comments Off on KnownHost Expands with New East Coast Datacenter

Web Hosting ServicesKnownHost LLC announced today that it expanded its VPS offerings to include a New Jersey-based datacenter.  The addition joins its already-established locations in Texas and California, and is the company’s third major datacenter brought online in six years.

The development comes on the heels of the firm’s news earlier this year that it now monitors 201 physical servers, placing it as the number-one webhost among the HyperSpin rankings for reliability and uptime.

According to the newest figures, KnownHost achieves a 99.967% uptime ranking, exceeding the 99.954% benchmark that HyperSpin considers to be a reliable webhost.

“Our growth is allowing us to rapidly invest in more managed virtual private server offerings,” said Justin Sauers, CEO at KnownHost LLC.  “Adding our third datacenter allows our customers to have more flexibility and reinforces our commitment to providing the best products and the most reliable support in the industry.”

Congruent with technological trends in managed VPS systems, KnownHost is recognizing the benefits of investing in the use of additional datacenters.  The Data Center Journal noted in June that according to the Uptime Institute’s inaugural datacenter-industry survey, “nearly two-thirds of respondents (60%) expect to upgrade/renovate an existing datacenter or construct a new data center within the next three years.”

As such, KnownHost has selected a leading datacenter provider in Piscataway, New Jersey, that was ranked by Inc. magazine as a fastest-growing company in America, that holds a certification for operating effectiveness, and that has the resources for world-class support within the surrounding New York City metro area.

KnownHost has been consistently ranked as a top Managed VPS Host in the HyperSpin rankings over the previous four years.  It also received a 2011 Editors’ Choice Award from the Web Hosting Directory and Review site FindMyHost.com, which bases its recognition on both editor-level and consumer-level reviews.

Hosting ServicesSANTA CLARA, CA – Vantage Data Centers, an innovative wholesale data center operator backed by the largest U.S. technology-based private equity firm, today announced the start of construction on V2 Santa Clara. V2 is the second building housed within the Vantage Santa Clara Campus and will provide data center modules designed to scale the facility from 9 to 18 MWs, allowing customers to immediately request more power without any additional construction, moving of equipment or service disruption. Vantage also announced the Apollo Innovation Initiative, a data center development framework integrating comprehensive design, project development and program management processes led by data center domain-area experts.

The Apollo Initiative allows Vantage to build highly efficient, next-generation data centers at a fraction of the risk and time normally associated with current practices in the data center industry, that deliver quantifiable benefits to business customers. The first Santa Clara data center (V3) commissioned 6MW in less than six months from the start of construction and is a LEED® Platinum candidate. V2, now under construction, leverages design philosophies similar to the recently announced Open Compute Project specifications for mechanical (cooling) delivery, showing a like-minded approach to identifying the most effective means to build with high efficiency components and systems.
