The dedicated server environment is currently in the beta stage. LeaseWeb clients can already try these Ultra Green Dedicated Servers at a discount.

LeaseWeb’s R&D team has installed the energy-efficient dedicated server environment in a private suite of the green data center EvoSwitch. The implementation was carried out in collaboration with EvoSwitch engineers.

Web Hosting ServicesAmsterdam – LeaseWeb, one of Europe’s largest hosting providers, has added two new modules to the two Cisco CRS-1 routers in the backbone of its global hosting network.  The cost of these modules: USD 790,000, i.e. more than half a million euros.

The two Cisco CRS-1 units – non-stop devices with a basic purchase value of 1.6 million euros – are a crucial element in LeaseWeb’ global hosting network.  They link the four data centers in LeaseWeb’s network with telecom carriers and a multitude of Internet exchanges, including LINX (London), DE-CIX (Frankfurt), AMS-IX (Amsterdam) and NYIIX (New York).  LeaseWeb specifically uses two Cisco CRS-1 units because they provide the best guarantee for uptime in the hosting network.

Webmaster News Amsterdam – The OCOM Group finished number 27 in the 2009 Deloitte Technology Fast50, the annual election of the fifty fastest-growing technology firms in the Netherlands. OCOM is the owner of hosting provider LeaseWeb, the CO2-neutral data center EvoSwitch, and network service provider FiberRing.

OCOM’s ranking in the Fast50 was announced during the official Fast50 award ceremony at The Talent Factory in ’s-Hertogenbosch on Thursday, October 29. Being number 27 in the Deloitte Technology Fast50 actually means that OCOM is the fastest-growing Internet service provider in the Netherlands. OCOM achieved sales growth of 860 percent, to 24.5 million euros, over a five-year period (2004 through 2008). For 2009, OCOM is expecting to generate sales worth 35 million euros. Read more

The most recent semi-annual customer survey held among more than 1,300 customers showed that the measures are having a positive effect.

The upgrade of LeaseWeb’s Support Department included the hiring of 20 more highly qualified engineers and the improvement of the terms of employment. In addition, all support engineers completed a series of communications training courses to improve their ability to operate in a more customer-friendly manner. These measures have resulted in an impressive 20% increase in the number of “fully satisfied” customers over the past six months.

Thorsten Einig (39) started at LeaseWeb a year ago, initially working on Project Management and Provisioning – the automated delivery of hosting solutions to customers. In his new position he will return to his former field of work with hosting provider 1&1 Internet, where he spent eight years on developing and streamlining hosting products. Thorsten Einig is a German national and was stationed in cities like Frankfurt and New York for 1&1 Internet.

The website Heineken.nl is a portal that not only provides information in the form of a comprehensive musical and sports agenda, but also features a web shop where you can reserve and purchase various extras, including music downloads and tickets to sold-out concerts. Visitors to Heineken.nl can use so-called Heineken “e’s” – the savings system at Heineken.nl – to pay for those special offers. The new Heineken portal caters is intended to enhance the level of enjoyment for people going out in the Netherlands, for both music lovers and sports enthusiasts.
