KnownHost Expands with New East Coast Datacenter

December 12, 2011 by · Comments Off on KnownHost Expands with New East Coast Datacenter

Web Hosting ServicesKnownHost LLC announced today that it expanded its VPS offerings to include a New Jersey-based datacenter.  The addition joins its already-established locations in Texas and California, and is the company’s third major datacenter brought online in six years.

The development comes on the heels of the firm’s news earlier this year that it now monitors 201 physical servers, placing it as the number-one webhost among the HyperSpin rankings for reliability and uptime.

According to the newest figures, KnownHost achieves a 99.967% uptime ranking, exceeding the 99.954% benchmark that HyperSpin considers to be a reliable webhost.

“Our growth is allowing us to rapidly invest in more managed virtual private server offerings,” said Justin Sauers, CEO at KnownHost LLC.  “Adding our third datacenter allows our customers to have more flexibility and reinforces our commitment to providing the best products and the most reliable support in the industry.”

Congruent with technological trends in managed VPS systems, KnownHost is recognizing the benefits of investing in the use of additional datacenters.  The Data Center Journal noted in June that according to the Uptime Institute’s inaugural datacenter-industry survey, “nearly two-thirds of respondents (60%) expect to upgrade/renovate an existing datacenter or construct a new data center within the next three years.”

As such, KnownHost has selected a leading datacenter provider in Piscataway, New Jersey, that was ranked by Inc. magazine as a fastest-growing company in America, that holds a certification for operating effectiveness, and that has the resources for world-class support within the surrounding New York City metro area.

KnownHost has been consistently ranked as a top Managed VPS Host in the HyperSpin rankings over the previous four years.  It also received a 2011 Editors’ Choice Award from the Web Hosting Directory and Review site FindMyHost.com, which bases its recognition on both editor-level and consumer-level reviews.

Data Foundry Announces the Opening on Texas 1 Data Center in Austin

July 21, 2011 by · Comments Off on Data Foundry Announces the Opening on Texas 1 Data Center in Austin

Hosting ServicesAustin, TX – Data Foundry, a leading provider of data center outsourcing, secure colocation and disaster recovery solutions, announces today the opening of Texas 1 , the first purpose-built, carrier-neutral data center in the Central Texas region. The initial phase of the highly anticipated 250,000 square foot data center is now fully operational and the first customers have started moving in. With the addition of Texas 1, Data Foundry now operates three carrier-neutral data centers in Texas: Texas 1 and ADC, located in Austin, and HDC in Houston.

Texas 1 is unlike any data center in the Central United States. Texas 1’s unique infrastructure features independent and diverse power, water and network feeds without a single point of failure in its power, cooling and network systems. Texas 1’s power system is fed from two independent substations and showcases an underground power feed enclosed end-to-end in a concrete duct bank – a rare feature for modern data centers.  The chilled water system enables flexible cooling solutions ranging from single cabinet deployments up to high-density configurations. Even the most complex High Performance Computing (HPC) environments can be properly cooled in Texas 1. With over 17 network carriers available, Texas 1 offers a wide variety of carrier-neutral options for its customers.

Enterhost Pursues Green Data Center Initiatives

Hosting ServicesFORT WORTH, TX – In a phased, three-year approach to reduce the environmental impact of its 20,000-square-foot data center, Enterhost is replacing its cooling system with the most energy-efficient, advanced data center air conditioning system available by Data Aire, Inc.

As the backbone of information technology, data centers contain the servers and storage systems needed to provide infrastructure technology solutions to businesses and other organizations.  But the downside is this equipment consumes a great deal of power. The EPA estimates that national energy consumption by servers and data centers could reach more than 100 billion kWh this year, representing a $7.4 billion annual electricity cost.

Data Foundry Announces Texas 1 Data Center Plans

March 16, 2011 by · Comments Off on Data Foundry Announces Texas 1 Data Center Plans

Hosting ToolboxAustin, TX – Data Foundry, a leading provider of data center outsourcing and colocation services, announces that its master-planned Texas 1 facility, opening June 2011, will fully support High Performance Computing (HPC) requirements. This next-generation data center includes the design, staff and facility infrastructure to meet the complex needs of HPC customers.

Historically, the unique requirements of HPC systems have forced companies to build their own facilities rather than outsourcing to a colocation provider. These in-house facilities represent long-term capital deployments which are out of sync with the much shorter lifetimes of HPC servers. Data Foundry recognized this need and incorporated elements supporting HPC demands throughout the Texas 1 infrastructure. Its chilled water plant design allows Data Foundry to separate HPC cooling from traditional room airflow. In this way, water-cooled cabinets can reach today’s power density demand of 50kW per cabinet and will accommodate the higher limits of the future. Through custom liquid cooling systems, Texas 1 is able to satisfy the needs of HPC users across a variety of industries such as higher education, oil and gas, and finance. Read more
