80% of your success comes from 20% of your effort

January 2, 2014 by · Comments Off on 80% of your success comes from 20% of your effort

Let’s face it, running your online business or hobby site requires a lot of time. Since time is a premium, you should focus your efforts on the tasks that bring in the most revenue for your business.

That’s why you should focus on the Pareto principle:

The Pareto principle states that, for many events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes.

Business-management consultant Joseph M. Juran suggested the principle and named it after Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto, who observed in 1906 that 80% of the land in Italy was owned by 20% of the population; Pareto developed the principle by observing that 20% of the pea pods in his garden contained 80% of the peas.

It is a common rule of thumb in business; e.g., “80% of your sales come from 20% of your clients”. Mathematically, the 80-20 rule is roughly followed by a power law distribution (also known as a Pareto distribution) for a particular set of parameters, and many natural phenomena have been shown empirically to exhibit such a distribution.

So how can you use the Pareto Principle to make more money?

1. Stop being a server admin.

Yeah, it’s fun to install, configure, and troubleshoot applications you want for your website. However, doing this is zapping your effectiveness.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been dragged into productivity killing tasks involving troubleshooting web applications I’ve installed or my employees need help with.

Quite simply… installing, configuring, and troubleshooting should be left to the pro’s. You should be focusing on what you do best – growing your online business.

After all, if customers aren’t coming through the site, then you aren’t making money, right? Read more

ThemeChilly Launches SuperHost – A One Pager WordPress Theme for Web Hosts

December 18, 2013 by · Comments Off on ThemeChilly Launches SuperHost – A One Pager WordPress Theme for Web Hosts

New Delhi, IndiaThemeChilly, a premium WordPress themes and custom WHMCS templates provider for web hosting and cloud industry today announced the launch of SuperHost – a new one-pager theme that is ideal for web hosts looking for a light website which is easy to load and provides a consolidated view of all products and offerings.

While the theme is built from the ground up and is structured to be a single page website, web hosters can easily add multiple inner pages and design their own navigation and layout with the help of a well-documented tutorial that comes bundled with the theme and has complete instructions along with PSD files for guiding users with the theme installation process, managing and customizing it in future as per their needs.

Munesh Singh, Founder & CEO of ThemeChilly said, “SuperHost is an attempt to reinvent the conventional approach to web designing in the web hosting industry. Most of the websites use tried and tested designs that are “in” and do not risk exploring out-of-the-box ideas that can differentiate them from others.

“The process of Superhost development was very intensive and involved continuous feedback from our enterprise clients who’ve been in the industry for many years. It is the maximum amount of time that we’ve worked upon a single theme, for this is a territory we’ve ourselves never explored in the past; we threw every ongoing “trend” out of the window and conceptualized it from scratch to make it stand out. We’re very satisfied with the outcome and also eager to see how the community responds,” he added.

Like all the ThemeChilly’s existing themes, SuperHost is purpose built, responsive, cross browser compatible, up-to-date with the latest version of WordPress and comes with free post-sales support and comprehensive documentation.

While there has been massive reinvention, Superhost follows basic industry guidelines and comes with varied features including robust design tools, different coloured skins, smart controls, illustrative images, animated CSS, WHMCS order form integration, domain search integration and unlimited updates. The complete list of features can be found here.

Earlier this month, ThemeChilly announced partnership with ResellerClub, one of the largest private label Web solutions providers in the world.

Shridhar Luthria, General Manager & Business Head of ResellerClub says, “ThemeChilly provides our resellers with aesthetically designed WordPress themes that can power a Domains and Hosting Business with effortless setup, excellent customizability and relevant sections such as feature highlights tooltips and testimonials. They also have a number of promotions from time to time which allow our resellers to avail of premium WordPress themes at reasonable prices.” Read more
