HostMySite Presents the World’s Fastest Server – Integrated Into an Electric Drag Bike

Webmaster NewsAustin, TX – HostMySite announced today that they will showcase the “World’s Fastest Server” at this year’s South by Southwest Interactive Festival (SXSW, Inc.). This electric drag bike, capable of going from 0-120 mph in eight seconds, houses an integrated server that distributes content and data to Web pages while it accelerates down the track. This first-of-its-kind drag bike is outfitted with Web cams, GPS, accelerometer and other sensors serving Web data while in motion.

HostMySite created this unique project to showcase the talent and imagination that not only their employees bring, but HostMySite brings to their customers. Visitors to are able to track the bike’s progress from start to finish and will see live footage from and of the bike and HostMySite booth visitors during SXSW March 14-16.

HostMySite’s own support employees have worked as a voluntary team during off-hours to create the “World’s Fastest Server.” Project leader Shawn Darby, who owns and manages the full service all-brand Motorcycle shop Darby Customs, has been working to make this project a reality.

HostMySite and The Code Project, a website formed to provide developers with a place to meet and exchange ideas, jointly announced the “World’s Fastest Server” LAMP Challenge. This contest challenges developers to create an innovative application to run on the data feed from the high-end server infrastructure in the “World’s Fastest Server” and post an article about it on The Code Project, The winner, as selected by the votes given by the Code Project developer community, will receive a dedicated server for life from HostMySite.
